All you need is a subscription to Cox DVR service, Cox High Speed Internet service, and a data-capable wireless device from any wireless provider. The mobile phone can be from any wireless provider that is data capable and has a browser with data service from their wireless provider. For example, cell phones, smart phones, or PDAs. Remote DVR Scheduling is an added feature for customers with Cox DVR and Cox TV service. Now Cox customers can program their DVR from a wireless phone or from a computer so shows are ready to watch when they are. There is no additional cost associated with Remote DVR Scheduling.
To access Remote DVR Scheduling from a wireless phone, you must have a Cox.net account and email address in order to link your account to a phone number and PIN. However, to access Remote DVR Scheduling from a computer, you just need a valid Cox.com User ID and password.
Currently all Motorola DVRs (DCT 6412, DCT 6416, DCH 3416) are compatible to use with Remote DVR Scheduling. Customers with Scientific Atlanta DVRs will have access to this service in the future.
Currently only the primary DVR is supported. If the primary DVR is not the one you want to record to, contact Cox Customer Care to swap DVRs.
No, PPV titles cannot be purchased and scheduled to be recorded using Remote DVR Scheduling at this time.

What wireless providers will work with Remote DVR Scheduling?
The wireless phone must be data-capable, with a browser. If you do not currently do so, you will need to subscribe to a data service plan for your wireless phone from their wireless service provider.
- Launch the Internet browser on the wireless phone and in the address field enter m.cox.net.
- Follow directions to register as a first time user or click log in, if already registered.
Result: After logging in using the phone number and PIN, a screen appears with the option to view TV listings or search channels and programs.
- Select a TV listing to record to the Cox DVR and click Schedule Recording.
Result: A confirmation screen for the recording request displays.
If you forget your PIN, you can re-register by clicking on the re-register link on the Remote DVR Scheduling interface.
If you attempt to remotely schedule a third program for the same time slot, the new program will override the currently recording program. In the future, conflict resolution will be supported when using Remote DVR Scheduling.

- Launch an Internet browser on the computer and navigate to cox.com/mydvr.
- Sign in using the Cox.com user ID and password.
- Select a TV listing to record to the Cox DVR and click the Record to my Cox DVR button.
- Select desired recording option settings.
- Click the Set to Record button to submit the scheduling request.
Result: A confirmation page displays for the recording request.
If you try to remotely schedule a third program for the same time slot, and select the Definitely Record option, then this program will override one of the currently recording programs. If you do not want the previously scheduled program to be overwritten, then select the Record if possible option.
