Verify That a Linksys Router has an IP Address
Last Updated: Thu, 03 Jun 2010 > Related Articles
Summary
Learn how to verify that a Linksys® router has an IP address.
Solution
In the Address text box, enter http://192.168.1.1 , and press Enter.

From the login screen:
- Enter Admin in the User name: text box.
- In the Password: text box, enter admin or password if the default password has been changed.
- Click OK.
This example uses a login screen from Windows XP. If a different version of Windows is being used, the appearance will be different, but the login will be the same.

From the router Status window, verify that the lower half of the screen displays IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, DNS1, and DNS2 information to confirm an Internet connection.
All steps complete.
