Cox is currently providing an enhanced error results service that redirects URL entries in Internet Explorer to relevant alternative results provided by Yahoo! Search Marketing. When no relevant keyword can be extracted to produce a list of alternative sites, a search box is presented to the users so they can conduct the search again. If relevant results are identified, an enhanced results page displays providing a suggested list of alternative sites.

Why do I see this new results page now?

Cox is providing an enhanced error results service to residential Cox High Speed Internet customers that provides a list of relevant alternative sites based on keyword searches entered in the Address bar of Internet Explorer.

How do I return to what I was doing before I encountered the error?

Either click the Back button in your browser or in the text at the top of the page.

Can I opt out of the service?

Yes, Cox High Speed Internet users can opt out of the enhanced error results service at any time. You can go to the Internet Tools Opt Out link to start the automatic opt out process. By selecting the opt out check box, you will no longer receive these enhanced error results.

Will I be charged for this service?

No, the service is provided free of charge to Cox High Speed Internet users.

Where do the results come from?

The results are derived from a partner company called Yahoo! Search Marketing. Yahoo! Search Marketing supplies both sponsored and algorithmic links.

What are sponsored links?

Sponsored links are results which appear at the top of the list of links generated from an Internet search. Companies pay to be ranked high on the results list.

Are all the sites recommended sponsored links?

The results served are a combination of sponsored links and �natural� search results, depending on what you were looking for �- just the same as if you used any search engine.

Are the alternative sites listed approved by Cox?

No, these sites are independent companies advertising through Yahoo! Search Marketing - just the same as if you used a standard search engine.

Does this service put any spyware or adware on my computer?

Absolutely not. The enhanced error results service is designed to replace errors at the ISP level and is not loaded directly onto your PC.
