Summary

Use this article to deactive the Cox DVR Universal M7820 Remote Control Channel Control Lock.

Solution

Overview

By default, the remote control’s channel-control capabilities are locked to work only with the cable receiver. Channel Control Lock affects the following buttons on the Cox remote control:

  • 0~9
  • CH–
  • LAST
  • CH+
  • ENTER

The buttons are locked so that you do not inadvertently change a channel on your TV or VCR. This article describes how to:

  • Deactivate Channel Control Lock to allow full access to these keys in the TV and VCR modes.
  • Reactivate Channel Control Lock to control only the cable receiver.

Note: This feature does not affect the AUX mode.
