Troubleshooting the D-Link Xtreme N DIR-825 Router

This article provides an overview of the available ports and an explanation of the status lights on a D-Link DIR-825 router.
For installation instructions, refer to Install and Configure the D-Link Router.
The D-Link DIR-825 has the following ports available on the back of the router:
- LAN Ports � Ethernet connections 1 - 4
- Internet Port � Connects the router to the cable modem
- USB Port � Can be used for Network USB (external drive or printer) or WCN Configuration
- Reset Button � Used to reset the router to factory settings.
- Power Outlet � Connects the router to power source.
|Power||Solid Blue||None||The router is powered on.|
|Off||Power is not being supplied to router.||Verify power supply connections and electrical outlet. Also make sure the outlet is not connected to a switch.|
|Internet||Blinking Blue||None. There is network activity through the Internet port.||N/A|
|Off||The Internet is not accessible.|
If the Internet light is off:
|WLAN 2.4 and 5GHz|
(Wireless Local Network)
|Solid Blue||None. A solid light indicates that the wireless segment is ready, but is not in use||N/A|
|Blinking Blue||None.The WLAN blinks during wireless data transmission.||N/A|
|Off||Router is powered off or the wireless local area network is not accessible.|
Make sure that Wireless is enabled on the router and the PC.
To enable Wireless on the router:
To enable Wireless on the PC, refer to your manufacturers instructions for enabling Wireless on the PC.
(Local Area Network)
|Blinking Blue||None. The router is successfully connected to a device through that port and communicating information.|
|Off||No Ethernet found.||Verify Ethernet cable connections and the power is on to the connected computer. If these steps do not resolve the issue, contact Customer Support at 1-877-216-9014.|
|WCN||Blinking Blue||None. After a USB flash drive with WCN is inserted, the WCN light will blink 3 times if it successfully transfers the wireless settings.|
|Off||No USB flash with WCN is connected.||If applicable, insert a USB flash drive with WCN in the USB port.|
