Solution

From the Home screen, tap Settings

From the left navigation menu, tap Wi-Fi
If Wi-Fi is OFF, tap the OFF button to turn it ON.

Tap the appropriate WiFi network and log in (if applicable).
Result
: iPad is now connected to Wi-Fi.

To verify the network is connected to a DOCSIS modem. 

  • The Wi-Fi icon at top left, shows the strength of the connection.
    Note
    : Once an iPad joins a network, it will automatically connect to it whenever it is in range.
  • If more than one previously joined networks is in range, the iPad will connect to the last network used.
  • If this is the first time connecting to a secured network, enter password for network and tap Join.
