For all PC browser-related articles see Manage Your PC Browser.
Cox does not support all browsers. The following information is for reference only. For specific information on using Firefox versions, visit Mozilla.org. Version 3.6 is no longer supported.
How do I check my security settings?
Under Protocols, verify that both SSL and TLS are checked, then click OK.
SSL is Security Socket Layer and TLS is Transport Layer Security. Each prevents web thieves from stealing your personal information by verifying the site is legitimate before allowing it to display on your computer. Think of them like the bouncer at a nightclub: If a site is not authorized it does not get in.
How do I turn on phishing protection for my browser?
Verify that all three options are checked:
- Warn me when sites try to install add-ons
- Block reported attack sites
- Block reported web forgeries
