Arming modes for the Cox Home Security system:
- Away - everyone is going "away" from the home. For example, everyone is leaving the home.
- Stay - someone might be "staying" in the home. For example, there are still people active in the home.
- Night - everyone is in for the "night," and no one will enter after arming. For example, everyone is going to bed.
You can be notified when the system is armed via email and text messages.

Arming and Disarming Your Cox Home Security System
Use the steps below to learn how to arm your home security system using:

Arming and Disarming Using Key Fob
- Arm
- On the key fob, press the Arm Away button for 1.5 seconds to arm the system.
Result: The LED flashes red once to indicate that it has contacted the system, then lights red for one second.Exit Delay starts at this time. There is a 30 second default period before the system is active. The LED will flash orange seven times if the system is not ready (i.e., if a door or window is open).
- Disarm
Press the Disarm button on the Cox Home Security key fob.
Result: The LED flashes green once to indicate that it has contacted the system and then lights green for one second.
Arming and Disarming using Keypad
- Arm
- Away Mode
- Enter a valid keypad code followed by pressing the arm button to arm the system in Arm Away mode (no one still in the premises).
Result:The unarmed button turns red for 3 seconds.
Exit Delay starts at this time. There is a 30 second default period before the system is active. The LED will flash orange seven times if the system is not ready (for example, if a door or window is open).

- Stay Mode
- Enter a valid keypad code, then press the arm button to arm the system in Arm Stay mode (there are still people within the premises).
Result: The unarmed button turns red for 3 seconds.
Exit Delay starts at this time. There is a 60 second default period (120 seconds maximum) with no beeping from the Touchscreen. The LED will flash orange seven times if the system is not ready (for example, a door or window is open).
- Disarm
- Enter a valid Key Pad Code, then press the unlock button to disarm the system.
Result: The unlock button turns green for three seconds to indicate that the system has been disarmed. There is no entry delay period.
Arming and Disarming using Subscriber Portal
- Arm
- Click the Security Status header when the system is in the Disarmed state or select Security > Arm on the toolbar.
Result: A dialog box appears. - Select the Arming Mode and enter the Keypad Code.
- Click Arm Now.
- Click the Security Status header when the system is in the Disarmed state or select Security > Arm on the toolbar.
If any security zones are currently faulted, preventing the system from being armed, you must click the Turn Zone Off button for that zone before arming the system.
Turning zones off means that they will not cause an alarm to be faulted if they are tripped.
- Disarm
- Click the Security Status header when the system is in the Armed state or select Security > Disarm on the toolbar.
Result: A dialog box appears. - Enter the Keypad Code.
- Click Disarm.
- Click the Security Status header when the system is in the Armed state or select Security > Disarm on the toolbar.
Arming and Disarming Using Touchscreen
- Arm Stay
- On the Touchscreen, touch the Security widget or touch the Disarmed - Press to Arm button on the
Home screen. - Choose the Arm System tab.
- Touch Arm Stay.
- Enter your Keypad Code.
- On the Touchscreen, touch the Security widget or touch the Disarmed - Press to Arm button on the

Notes:
- The touchscreen generates short, audible alerts while arming, indicating 60 seconds for exit. When you enter
your home when the system is armed, you will hear audible alerts for 30 seconds. - If any security zones are currently faulted, preventing the system from being armed, you must click the Turn Zone Off button for that zone before arming the system.
