Home Networking Security Check is a free tool providing our Cox High Speed Internet customers with an easy way to ensure that their wireless connection is secure with encryption enabled. To learn more about Cox Home Networking, refer to Home Networking FAQs.
Complete the following steps to access and run the Home Networking Security Check tool to ensure your wireless network has encryption enabled.
The Home Networking Security Check tool requires the Internet Explorer browser, IE 6.0 or higher, and an Active X control to run.

From the My Connection page, next to My Services, click the Internet link.

Result: The Internet Tools page displays.

Enter primary User ID and Password, then click Sign In.
Note: If you do not remember your password, click the Forgot your Password? link.

Under My Account located on the left navigation bar, click the Home Networking link.

Click the Get Started button.

Note: An Active X control is required to run the tool. Allow the Active X control to run by clicking the yellow bar near the top of the browser.

Click the Check Now button.

Result: The security check is performed and one of three results pages displays with details about the wireless connection security. Refer to Interpret Home Networking Security Check Results for additional details.
