Install it yourself

You set up service at your convenience and save on the cost of a professional installation.

To install your own service you must have:

• An active cable outlet accessible to your TV or computer
• Necessary service equipment, like an approved modem, cable receiver, or EMTA device (used in some locations for combination Phone and Internet services)
• Other equipment that works with our service, such as:
   – Cable-ready TV, or HDTV for HDTV service
   – Computer that meets minimum requirements and has an available
      Ethernet or USB port
   – For wireless modems, a computer with wireless capability

To complete the install you'll need to:

• Be able to connect cables between the cable outlet and your equipment
• Follow the software installation instructions on the CD (for Internet service)

Professional Installation

Our Home Service Tech connects your equipment, so you know your service is up and running.

Note: An adult must be present during installation to sign a license agreement and get an explanation of the service installed.

For TV and Phone service, our Home Service Tech will:

• Complete any necessary street-to-home service cabling
• Connect internal cables to the service equipment — for the number of rooms, TVs, or phones arranged
• Ensure your service is working properly
• Answer questions about your service

For Internet service, our Home Service Tech will:

• Install coaxial cable to the computer's location
• Connect the cable modem to the coaxial cable
• Synchronize the cable modem
• Install an Ethernet card (if needed)
• Configure the USB connection (if needed)
• Install and configure your computer's network settings
• Install and configure software
• Ensure your service is working properly
• Answer questions about your service (Internet browsing, email, etc.)

For a professional install, you'll need to:

• Be available when technician arrives
• Have your operating system software available
• Back up critical data on your computer
