Front View

After the cable modem has successfully registered on the network, the Power, Cable, and Traffic indicators illuminate continuously to indicate that the cable modem is online and fully operational. For more details, refer to the Modem Lights section.
Back View

The SMC 8013 has the following ports available on the back of the modem:
- Power - Connects the cable modem to the power adapter.
- Reset - Resets the cable modem.
- ETHERNET (1-4) - Connects to the Ethernet port on your computer.
- USB - Connects to the USB port on your computer.
- CATV - Connects to the cable wall outlet
