Summary

Learn about Multiple Computer Access and the steps for adding an additional computer to the Cox High Speed Internet service. For Home Networking from Cox, see About Home Networking.

Solution

When two or more computers are networked, a hub or router is needed. If using a hub to connect multiple computers to the cable modem, then you need to order Multiple Computer Access (MCA).

Cox offers the ability for you to connect more than one computer to a single cable modem by adding additional IP addresses.

  • Additional IP address does not require a technician to visit the home.
  • Additional IP can be ordered online, or over the phone. Complete the following steps to order online.

Requirements

  • You are responsible for completing all the networking and any networking hardware and software needed.
  • Cox does not supply any equipment or special support for an additional IP address.

Pricing

Adding additional IP addresses to the Cox account requires a one-time charge of $9.95 and a monthly fee. For pricing information, contact your local Cox Communications office.
