Last Updated: Thu, 26 Jul 2012 > Related Articles
Summary
Learn how to turn on SAP on the Trio program guide that comes with the Cox Advanced TV Plus package.
Solution
What is SAP (Secondary Audio Program)?
SAP is a secondary audio stream that a broadcaster may choose to transmit for television programs. This stream may include an audio track in another language (such as French or Spanish) and/or Descriptive Video narration for the visually-impaired.
When SAP is available for a show, the program description in the Program Guide will display the SAP icon.
Use the the steps below to turn on SAP.
If you turn on the SAP setting, but the program does not carry a second audio track, then you may not hear any audio at all. Simply turn off SAP to restore the original audio.
Enabling SAP
Do not turn on both the TV and cable box settings for SAP. Only the cable box SAP setting should be turned on.
Turning on SAP functionality on your cable box will also turn on the Descriptive Video service. For more information about Descriptive Video, see About Video Description.

Press the down arrow to highlight the Alternate (SAP) option. Press Select, then press Exit. The secondary audio will play for designated programs.
Press Exit.
Result: The secondary audio will play for designated programs.
Disabling SAP
To Turn off SAP, use the steps below.

Press the down arrow to highlight the Primary Audio or English option. Press Select, then press Exit.
