Summary

Learn how to install CoxSync on a PC.

Solution

Important: CoxSync must be downloaded and installed locally on the PC. If installed from another machine, it may not uninstall properly.

Sign in to Enhanced WebMail by visiting www.cox.com and entering the account holder User ID and Password.

Result: The Cox High Speed Internet Enhanced WebMail page displays.

Click the CONTACTS link.

Result: The CONTACTS window displays.

Click the Advanced link in the bottom left area of the CONTACTS action bar.

Result: The Universal Contact Manager opens and displays the Contacts tab.

Click the Sync tab located at the top of the page.

Result: The Universal Contact Manager Sync tab displays.  The Sync page provides information about the Cox Sync application and links to:

  • How can I perform a sync?
  • Download CoxSync
  • CoxSync Help

Click the Download CoxSync button.

Result: The Download CoxSync application page displays.

To download the CoxSync Companion:

  1. Select the operating system which is used with CoxSync from the Your Configuration is: drop down menu.
  2. Click the Download button.

Result: The File  Download - Security Warning page displays.

Click the Run button.

Result: The Internet Explorer - Security Warning page displays.

Note: Some customers may not receive security warnings. If you do not receive a File Download or Internet Security Download warning, follow the installation prompts as directed.

  1. Click the Next button.

    Result: The License Agreement displays.
  2. To continue, the License Agreement must be read and accepted. Click the Yes button to continue.

    Result: The Choose Destination Location page displays.
  3. Click the Next button.

    Result: The Ready to Install the Program page displays.

Click the Install button.

Result: A progress bar displays while the CoxSync software is installed. Once the installation is complete, the Cox Sync Companion opens and displays the Account window. Refer to Set Up CoxSync Synchronization Parameters.

Note: Depending on the environment and the package installed you may be prompted to restart your PC in order to finish the installation.

If you do not want to continue setting the sychronization parameters, click the Finish button.
