Overview
The FCC and their contractor SamKnows launched the Test My ISP November 13, 2010. They are now asking Internet Service Providers (ISP) to assist them with finding volunteers. An email was sent to Cox Internet customers that includes a FCC request for volunteers.
Cox is not conducting these tests. We are only providing information from the FCC and SamKnows to customers who want to volunteer.

Cox is assisting the FCC to ensure that the performance measurement tests are comprehensive and precise.
Yes. If selected, customers will receive an Internet Bridge to connect to their router that is enabled with performance measurement software from SamKnows.
Possibly. Customers should access and read the requirements and terms of agreement at www.testmyisp.com/requirements.html.
Yes. Customers will have full access to their performance data via a secure online reporting system.
Cox takes customer privacy very seriously. No information about our customers has been given to the FCC, SamKnows, or any company connected to the Test My ISP project. The updated round of testing is expected to take three months to complete.
