Disable Firewall or Anti-virus software.

Cox Secure Browsing installation stops and one of the following happens.

  • The PIN validation doesn’t complete.
  • A “cookies“ message is displayed.
  • A message stating that the Microsoft Security Certificate cannot be created.
  • A long alpha-numeric error code displays during installation.

The issue may be related with the system clock of the computer.

Verify that the time, AM / PM, Date, Time zone, and Daylight Savings Time are correctly set for the current time zone / location of the computer.

Note: The system clock must be set correctly to synchronize with the Microsoft Clock Servers for the software to install correctly.

Other Application Related Issues

TextText
Scroll bars appear outside of the boundaries of the screen.Resize or move the window until you can access the scroll bar.
Not able to print statements or other documents from a bank website using the Secure ViewTM browser.

The Cox Secure Browsing software does not have printer drivers, and uses the drivers of the web browser. Depending on which operating system you are using, the operating system may not allow the printer drivers to work from the Secure ViewTM browser.

For Vista and Windows 7 Users:

  • It is also possible that the User Account Controls will not allow the printing functionality.
  • Disabling the User Account Controls from the control panel then restarting the computer may resolve the situation. However, an easier solution is to actually save the PDF file and to then print it from another application.
Blank Screen when accessing web sites or e-mail.

The blank white screen is usually the result of the page loading too slowly. “Refreshing” the screen and doing a “reload,” resolves the issue.

  1. Press F5.
  2. Wait for the page to load.
  3. Press F5.
Locked out due to forgotten PIN

If a PIN is entered incorrectly four consecutive times, they will be locked out of the Cox Secure Browsing application.

  • Once this happens, there is no way to unlock the software and access the personal information.
  • No third party has a record of the PIN, or any way to unlock it once it has been locked.
  • The information cannot be accessed by anyone without the correct PIN, and only the PIN creator and anyone they may have shared that information with has it.
  • After a final failed attempt to enter the PIN number, you will be brought to the Master PIN entry page where you can create a new PIN.
  • The Cox Secure Browsing installation will remain intact, however, any stored accounts would need to be restored from a backup, or recreated.

Note: If restoring from a backup, you must enter the PIN used at the time the backup was created.
