Solution
To turn on the Windows Firewall

From the Start screen, move your cursor to the top right corner of the computer screen or press the Windows + C keys to display the Charm Bar. Click the Search icon.

Click Settings on the Charm Bar, then type Firewall in the search field.

Click Windows Firewall in the search results.

Click Turn Windows Firewall on or off in the left pane.

Click Turn on Windows Firewall for your private and public network settings. To disable the Windows Firewall, click Turn off Windows Firewall.

Click OK to save the settings.
To perform security scan with Windows Defender

From the Start screen, move your cursor to the top right corner of the computer screen or press the Windows + C keys to display the Charm Bar. Click the Search icon.

Click Settings on the Charm Bar, then type Windows Defender in the search field.

Click Windows Defender in the search results.

Under Scan Option in the right pane, select Full then click the Scan now button. You can also choose Custom Scan to check only certain folders or drives on your PC.
