To activate Cox Secure Online Backup, complete the following steps.

Mac OS X 10.7 is currently not compatible with the software client.

From the My Connection page, next to My Services, click the Internet link.

Result: The Internet Tools page displays.

Enter User ID and Password, then click Sign In.

Note: If you do not remember your password, click the Forgot your Password? link.

Under My Account located on the left navigation bar, click Secure Online Backup.

Result: The Secure Online Backup page displays. 

To initiate the activation process, click the Activate Now button.

Note: After clicking Activate Now, you are provided the Service Tier level (Package Name) and related Storage Space allotment associated (X GB) information.

Result: The Terms and Conditions page displays.

To accept the Terms and Conditions, check the I have read and accepted the Terms of Conditions of Service box, then click the Activate button.

Note: The minimum system requirements for Cox Secure Online Backup are Internet Explorer 7.0 and higher, Firefox 3.0 and higher, and Safari 3.0 and higher, and Javascript.

Result: The Activation Confirmation page displays to confirm the activation is complete.

Once activation is successful, click the Continue button.

Note: To return to the Internet Tools page, click the Back button.

Result: The Cox Secure Online Backup Home page displays.

You can now install the Cox Secure Online Backup for Windows and Cox Drag & Drop Backup applications.

Click Download to continue.

Result: The File Download - Security Warning box displays.

Click Run.

Result: The applications download. Once complete, the Cox Secure Online Backup for Windows window displays.

Click Next.

Result: The Software License Agreement window displays.

To accept the Software License Agreement, click I Agree.

Result: The Choose Destination for Installation window displays.

Choose the destination folder, then click Next.

Note: Use the default Program Files folder as shown.

Result: The Start Installation window displays.

To start the installation, click Next.

Result: The Cox Secure Online Backup for Windows - Overview - Drag and Drop Files to Cox window displays.

Click Next.

Note: To bypass the overview and go directly to the Online Backup window, click the Open Secure Backup button.

Result: The Cox Secure Online Backup for Windows - Overview - Automatically Backup Files window displays.

Click Next.

Note: To bypass the overview and go directly to the Online Backup window, click the Open Secure Backup button.

Result: The Cox Secure Online Backup for Windows - Overview - Enjoy! page displays.

Click Finish.

Result: The Installation Successful window displays.

To close the Installation Successful confirmation window, click Close.

Result: The Install Cox Secure Online Backup for Windows restart window displays.

Click Yes.

Note: The system restart is not a requirement.

Result: The applications are now installed and ready for you to use.
