Middle Georgia LifeLine Telephone Program
Benefits
LifeLine and Linkup America are discounted telephone service programs for low-income customers provided by the local telephone companies and sponsored by the Georgia Public Utilities Commission. If you qualify for the Cox Middle GA LifeLine and/or Linkup programs, you are entitled to:
- Basic line discount - $7 per month (primary line only)
- Monthly FCC charge of $6.50 waived
- Monthly charge for toll restriction waived
- Deposit waived for LifeLine service line if you elect toll restriction
- Free one-time installation charge
Is the Cox Middle GA Lifeline service right for you?
You can qualify for Lifeline service and/or Linkup if the telephone requested is for your principal place of residence and you meet one of the following requirements:
- Medicaid
- Food Stamps
- Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
- Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
- Senior citizen low-income discount offered by the local gas or power company
- Low Income Home Energy Assistance (LIHEAP)
- Federal Public Housing Assistance (FPHA)
Restrictions
- The telephone service for which applicant is requesting Lifeline is in applicant’s name.
- Applicant is not listed as a dependent on another person’s income tax return (unless over the age of 60).
- The service address is applicant’s primary address, not a second home or business.
- Applicant does not receive a Lifeline discount from any other carrier (wireline or wireless services).
- Applicant can only receive the Lifeline discount on one phone line

To enroll in Lifeline and/or Linkup America, please contact Cox at 478-784-8000 to receive a Cox Lifeline Application Form or pick-up an application at a convenient Cox Digital Store location.
Completed applications may be:
- Submitted at one of our Digital store locations OR
