Solution
The following two procedures automatically turn off the cable box after the specified number of minutes. The countdown begins immediately after you select the number of minutes and then press the EXIT button.
From Quick Settings
- Press the SETTINGS button.
- Scroll to Activate Sleep Timer.
- Select Yes.
- Press left arrow to cycle through number of minutes, and select either 5, 10, 15, 30, 45, 60, 75, or 90 minutes.
- Press EXIT.
Note: Quick Settings requires that the TV power must be plugged into the AC outlet at the back of the cable box. You must also set up the AC outlet to work with the cable box:
- Press the SETTINGS button, then the A button.
- Scroll to Accessories.
- Select AC Outlet Use.
- Select Always On, or On with Settop.
- Press SELECT.
- Press EXIT.
From General Settings
- Press SETTINGS button, then the A button.
- Scroll to Timers and press SELECT.
- Scroll to Sleep Timer and press SELECT.
- Select ON.
- Press the right arrow.
- Scroll to the number of minutes desired and press SELECT.
- Press EXIT.
All steps complete.
