Solution
From the desktop, double click the CoxSync icon.
Result: The CoxSync Companion page displays and automatically performs a sync.
Note: If you did not save your Cox login and Cox password, an Account login page displays. Follow the prompts to enter your Cox login and Cox password.
Select the Settings icon.
Result: The Settings page displays the following tabs:
- Account
- Application
- Connection
- Scheduling
- Conflicts
Click the Scheduling tab.
Result: The Synchronization Scheduling page displays.
Note: The Management Rules button provides rules for contact deletions during synchronization.
- Select the rule to apply during synchronization when there is a conflict. Use the following table to determine which rule to apply.
Note: After a sync is performed and two databases are updated seperately, there could be a potential conflict when the customer attempts to sync again -if the information from both databases does not match. The customer will need to decide how to resolve these types of conflicts.Option... Then... When a modification is detected An automatic synchronization is only launched if a data record is updated on the client. When the application starts An automatic sync will begin when CoxSync is launched. Recursively Select the frequency in the following list: hourly, daily, weekly and monthly.
Note: The customer has to define reccurence type (Hourly, Daily, Weekly). Then they must define the day and time using the drop down menus. The user can choose each day from Monday till Sunday and each hour from 00 till 23; and minutes: 00 till 59.
Duplicate data (keep a copy of both items) In the event of conflict the records are duplicated. This means the client record is added on the server and the server record is added on the client. This conflict rule is not recommended because it could result in multiple duplications in multi-message mode. Let server choose conflict rule (default rule) The server chooses which conflict rule to apply. This choice is checked by default.
Note: The customer can also choose more than one option, for example, the user can choose to synchronize every day at 10am and when a modification is detected. - Click OK.
