Troubleshooting the D-Link Wireless N 300 DIR-615 Router

This article provides an overview of the available ports and an explanation of the status lights on a D-Link Wireless N 300 DIR-615 router. Included in this article is information related to troubleshooting, installation, and manufacturer resources.

The D-Link DIR-615 has the following ports available on the back of the router:
- LAN Ethernet Ports 1-4 - Connects the router to the power adapter.
- Internet Port - Connects the router to the cable modem.
- Reset Button - Used to reset the router.
- Power Receptor - Receptor for the supplied power adapter.
|Power||Solid Green||None. A solid light indicates a proper connection to the power supply.|
|Off||Power is not being supplied to router.||Verify power supply connections and electrical outlet. Also make sure the outlet is not connected to a switch.|
|Internet||Solid Green||None. There is a connection made through the Internet port.||N/A|
|Solid Amber||The Internet is not accessible. Internet settings may need to be restored to the factory default settings.|
To restore the factory default settings:
|Blinking Green||None. Data is being transmitted and received. If your Internet light is green or blinking green, then you have a good Internet connection, and your wiring is correct.||N/A|
|Off||The Internet is not accessible.|
If the Internet light is off:
(Wireless Local Area Network)
|Blinking Green||None. The router is actively sending or receiving data over the wireless network.||N/A|
|Off||The router is powered off or there is a problem with the wireless connection.|
Make sure that Wireless is enabled on the router and the PC.
To enable Wireless on the router:
To enable Wireless on the PC, refer to your manufacturers instructions for enabling Wireless on the PC.
(Local Area Network)
|Blinking Green||None. The router is successfully connected to a device through that port and communicating information.||N/A|
|Off||No Ethernet found.||Verify Ethernet cable connections and the power is on to the connected computer. If these steps do not resolve the issue, contact Customer Support at 1-877-216-9014.|
