Manage your phone from anywhere with Phone Tools

A free service to customers who get both Cox Phone and Internet service, Phone Tools is a cool way to make the most of your calling features. This online service lets you interact with your phone service on the web. When you spend time at a computer away from home, you get great advantages, like tracking the calling that’s going on when you’re away. If you have kids, you’ll love it.

Phone Tools gives you quick and easy online access to:

  • View, print and save incoming and outgoing call history (updated every 15 minutes)
  • Manage your speed dial numbers
  • Control feature settings like call waiting and call forwarding
  • Listen to and manage voice mail messages
  • Set email notification for new voice mail messages
  • Change your greetings

Phone Tools is one of those features that when you use it, you'll wonder why everyone doesn't.

Features you want to personalize your service

Features make sure your phone gives you all of the tricks you expect. Get time and interruption saving benefits to call exactly the way you want.

Anonymous call rejection – If the caller ID is anonymous, your phone will not ring. It will go to voice mail, if you subscribe to that service. The caller will hear that you are not accepting calls at this time. You may not think anonymous callers are worth your time and this feature agrees with you.

Busy line redial – if you dial a busy number, an audio recording will ask if you want the call to be dialed for you until it is available. If you choose yes, your phone will ring with a different ring tone. Just pick up the phone to connect to the call.

Call forwarding – when you're away from your phone, forward your calls to a different number. For people who go on a few weekend getaways, this is a very popular alternative to a long list of missed calls upon your return. It is also a great safety feature, letting you sound at home when you're not.

Call forwarding busy – if your phone is busy, incoming calls are routed to another number. If you have dial-up Internet, teens in the house, or take work calls at home, this is an indispensable backup.

Call forward-no answer – after 5 rings, calls are routed to a second number. If you can't hear the phone because you're in the yard, or just don't want to forward your phone number each time you're away, this catch-all-other call instances can be an easy way to stay in touch.

Call forwarding remote access – A worthwhile add-on to call forwarding features, this just allows you to turn the feature on and off from somewhere besides your own home phone number. Perfect because sometimes, wanting to forward your calls is an unexpected desire.

Caller ID – shows you the phone number and usually a name of who is calling. This works on any phone that is able to display this information and also follows you if your calls are forwarded.

Call return – return a call to the last number that dialed you, whether you answered or not. Your caller ID tells you who it is, make it easy without dialing the number.

Call trace – Identify harassing phone calls with this per use feature. In some instances, the trace information may not legally be disclosed to you, but can be blocked from reaching you or your voice mail.

Call transfer – During a call, you can transfer the caller to another number. If you are using two lines at home or if someone in the house is traveling, you'll soon find this a nice benefit.

Call waiting – while you're on a call, you get a beep that someone is trying to call you. You have the choice of taking the incoming call or not.

Call waiting ID – your caller ID display will show you the call that is waiting, rather than displaying the information after you complete your current call which is how caller ID normally operates.

Long distance alert – get a distinctive ringtone when the caller is long distance. This useful tool helps you choose to take calls that could possibly cost you more to return (not available in Middle Georgia).

Priority ringing – set up certain numbers to give a distinctive ring. You may have family or friends that are going through a sensitive time, or your kids might be out. Make sure that you know it's the ones you care about most when they call.

Speed call – save time by setting up eight numbers you dial most on speed call. If you have babysitters, having emergency contacts on speed dial is peace of mind.

Three-way calling – Lets you call two numbers and conference everyone together. Three popular uses are: coordinating plans with friends, working from home calls and teens being the social wonders that they are.

Selective call acceptance – only the phone numbers you want to call you will ring. This is the ultimate control over your phone.

Selective call forward – Like the call forwarding option above, this only forwards calls during busy or no answer for the numbers you select.

Selective call rejection – Reject calls from specific phone numbers. The caller will hear that you are not accepting calls at this time. This works well when there are certain people you don't want to talk to for a while or forever. Also it is a useful control or safety feature for your children.

Voice mail – Takes messages for you without an answering machine, so you don't need to hear those messages being left or see those annoying lights. Also available with up to 4 individual mailboxes. Just pick up the phone. If you hear a stutter tone, you have a message waiting for you. Dial a code to retrieve your messages. You can easily get your messages when you're away from home by dialing your home number, get transferred into your own voice mailbox and then dial the same code.

Plus, if you have Cox Internet service and subscribe to voice mail and our free Phone Tools, you can get your voice mail messages delivered via email, too.

Always free individual features – the features you count on being there

900 and 976 blocking – If these calls shouldn't be made from your house, they won't be. Not by guests, not by anyone.

Caller ID blocking-all calls – Removes your caller ID phone number and name from being presented, ever. Your calls will always appear anonymously to whoever you dial.

Per call caller ID blocking – Turns off caller ID from outbound calls that you make on a per call basis. Caller ID is a great feature and your privacy is too.

Long-distance charge block – If you don't want long-distance call charges, block them all with this feature. You cannot unblock this feature by dialing codes on your phone. You need to call a customer service representative and provide your account security information before this block will be removed.

Choose a plan to fit your budget and your needs

More than ever, you need options – to get what you want and still meet your budget. Cox lets you mix and match the specific plans and features you want to get the perfect service for you. Our phone plans give you calling for less and if you bundle your service with digital cable and Internet, perferred or better, you get even greater savings.
