Change Classic WebMail Time Zone
Last Updated: Thu, 12 Apr 2012 > Related Articles
Summary
This article provides steps on how to change the default time zone in WebMail.
Solution
If the time zone setting is incorrect, it may be because it was not set when first logging in to Classic WebMail. The default time zone setting is New York (GMT), which is Eastern Standard Time.
Time Zones Explained:
GMT - GMT stands for Greenwich Mean Time and is the standard time in Greenwich, England. Every other time zone is added to this to establish that zone. For instance, GMT time minus 4 hours is GMT-4. The zone for GMT-4 is the eastern standard time zone in the United States, represented by New York in WebMail. GMT is similar to Coordinated Universal Time or UTC. The following explains how to use the Time Zone options in WebMail:
| City | Standard Time Zone |
|---|---|
| Chicago | Central (GMT -5) |
| New York | Eastern (GMT-4) |
| Denver, Phoenix | Mountain (GMT-7, GMT-6) |
| Los Angeles | Pacific (GMT-8) |
| Anchorage | Alaskan (GMT-9) |
| Honolulu | Hawaiian (GMT-10) |
From the WebMail Inbox window, click Settings.

Result: The Message Settings window displays.
Click Time Zone.

Result: The Set Time Zone window displays.
Select a city within your time zone, then click OK.
