Launching Synchronization with CoxSync

This article provides instructions on how to launch synchronization with CoxSync.

Solution

As of May 21, 2013 CoxSync is no longer available for download. Cox will continue to support this application until August 29, 2013.

Double click the CoxSync desktop icon.

Result: The CoxSync Companion displays.

Click the Sync icon on the tool bar.

Result: Synch begins to syncronize based on updates or modifications made to the synched application (i.e.Outlook or Outlook Express).  Once complete, a Processing Complete message along with the sychronization Type, Status and Action display.

To view the results of the Synchronization Log Report

Click the Logs icon.

Result:  The Synchronization log report window opens and the results are displayed as follows:

  • The synchronization reference: Synchronization of mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm:ss
  • Duration
  • Size
  • Connection (succeeded or errors)
  • Authentication (succeeded or errors)
  • Result of the database concerned: Contacts. For the database, the detail is displayed: Sent to client, Modified on the client, Deleted on the client, Sent to the server, Modified on the server, Deleted on the server. On each line, the number of items is displayed.

Synchronization Failure

If the synchronization fails, the cause of the failure is displayed. An error is generated when an action is not correctly completed.  Refer to Configure Conflicts Settings.
