Programming the URC 8820 by Searching for Device Codes
Last Updated: Thu, 16 Jun 2011 > Related Articles
Summary
Program your URC 8820 remote control to work with other devices.
Solution
To perform this procedure, you need to be familiar with the following buttons on your remote control.
| Button on Remote Control | Icon |
|---|---|
| AUX | ![]() |
| DVD | ![]() |
| TV | ![]() |
| MUTE | ![]() |
| SELECT | ![]() |
Turn on the device you want to program.
Note: If you have multiple devices, such as a TV and DVR, make sure only the device you want to program is turned on.
Press and hold the Mute and Select buttons at the same time until the button for the device you are programming blinks twice and then release both buttons.
Press and release the button for the device you are programming (AUX, DVD, or TV).
Aim your remote at the device you are programming and press and hold the Select button.
Note: You may have to hold the Select button down longer than a minute, while the remote control searches the entire list of codes for the device you are programming.
When the device turns off, release the Select button, and the code for the device is saved automatically.
Result: The remote is now programmed to work with the device.
