Epix is a movie-based channel backed by a number of major film studios that provides over 150 monthly movie titles in standard and high definition, video-on-demand. The latest feature of Epix is the EpixHD.com online content that includes access to over 100 titles at any time along with the availability of 720p online HD movies. Movie content includes first run films – some on the same day as the DVD release – and popular film libraries such as Star Trek, James Bond, The Godfather, and Indiana Jones.

EpixHD.com offers access only to HD movies.

EpixHD.com offers streaming for HD movies, interviews, trailers, and more. Cox Advanced TV customers (both account holders and authorized household members) will be able to access the streamed content from either EpixHD.com or Cox.com. Access is provided both within the Cox service area and remotely, meaning that the customers can access the protected video content even if they are outside their Cox service area. They must, however, be within the United States or its territories.

Requirements

For Cox customers to gain access, they must meet the following requirements and register to access the video content available from EpixHD.com. Customers or authorized users (other members of the household) must be 18 or older to register.

• Cox Movie Pak or Epix à la carte

• Access to the internet

Registration and Log In

Customers need to register with EpixHD.com the first time they access the site to view video content. They can access EpixHD.com from either Cox.com or EpixHD.com. If customers use Cox.com, they are authenticated when they use their Cox.com username and password. The username and password are not shared with Epix, when the customer is redirected to the EpixHD.com website.

Registration creates a cookie, or a small piece of data that is stored in the browser and identifies the customer. After the customer registers and logs in, the cookie is retained for 30 days. The customer does not have to log in again until the 30 days has expired. On the 31st day, the customer has to log in again, resulting in the creation of another cookie that is retained for 30 days.

Note: Customers will, however, have to re-authenticate by logging in if they use a different browser or computer.

Movie Ratings and Restricting Access

During the initial EpixHD.com registration process, customers or household members enter their age, for example, a family member who is 18 years old. If the customer later tries to access a movie with an R rating, the customer is required to log in, even if it is less than 30 days since the last login.
