To improve the security of your home network Cox recommends that you activate the security features of your wireless (WiFi) network by enabling encryption on your wireless router or gateway. Enabling online security is an easy process that takes only a few minutes and protects both you and Cox from potential abuse.
Since all routers and gateways are different, the steps required to secure your network will vary. Below are some links to common manufacturer's support pages where you can learn how to configure and secure your router or gateway. If the manufacturer of your router or gateway is not listed, refer to the user's guide of your router or gateway or contact the manufacturer directly.
