Cox High Speed Internet has specific servers which perform routine checks on our network for customers who may have open port programs running on their system. An open port system is the first indication of a possible server system on a computer, and may also be in indication that the computer has been infected by a virus. You may get scanned by these servers a couple times a day when these checks are performed.

These servers are not trying to access your system in any way. This is a diagnostic tool to help Cox ensure that no user is abusing the service as outlined in the AUP, and that customers computers are not infecting others. If you are not running a server and your computer is free of viruses, then the routine scans will not impact you, or your service, in any way.
