Cox does not support all browsers. The following information is for reference only. For specific information on using Firefox versions, visit Mozilla.orgVersion 3.6 is no longer supported.

How do I check my security settings?

1
On the menu bar, click Tools then in the drop-down click Options.
2
Click the Advanced icon then click the Encryption tab.
3

Under Protocols, verify that both SSL and TLS are checked, then click OK.

SSL is Security Socket Layer and TLS is Transport Layer Security. Each prevents web thieves from stealing your personal information by verifying the site is legitimate before allowing it to display on your computer. 1
On the menu bar, click Firefox then in the drop-down click Options.
2

3

Verify that all three options are checked:

  • Warn me when sites try to install add-ons
  • Block reported attack sites
  • Block reported web forgeries
4
Close the Security window by clicking the red X in the upper left-hand corner.
