Narcotics Cops Like New Law

11-04-2009 01:35 AM MST | By ###David Rucker/psl ND)
(Oklahoma City, OK) -- The State Narcotics Bureau is touting a new state law that closes a loophole people have been using to buy pseudoephedrine, the central ingredient in the meth cooking recipe. Bureau spokesman Mark Woodward says a driver license or state ID card is still required as well as birth date proof. But agents also have access to license records from the state. That means a second attempt at small purchase will be rejected. But that's still not the end of the deterrent line. Woodward says there are additional ideas they'll be finalizing with lawmakers next spring.
