Driver hits power pole in Escondido

A suspected drunken driver hit a power pole Sunday morning in Escondido, leading to an hours-long road closure as San Diego Gas & Electric Crews restored power to the neighborhood. Crews were called at 3:30 a.m. to the crash near the intersection of East El Norte Parkway and East Lincoln Avenue, Escondido police said.
