Cox Communications has a long history of supporting the community through organizations such as the Boys & Girls Clubs, the Urban League, and many others. Each year, Cox gives millions of dollars and in-kind services to support the local communities it serves. Cox Charities enables Cox to focus its giving and leverage its business partnerships to accomplish more on behalf of children.

Specifically, Cox Charities awards grants to qualifying organizations for education programs that further the academic achievement and development of young people through science and technology, mentoring, literacy and other areas promoting youth education.

Cox Charities will consider grant requests from non-profit organizations serving the Hampton Roads and Roanoke regions.

The specific communities in Hampton Roads are: City of Chesapeake, Currituck County (Knotts Island only), Gloucester County, City of Hampton, James City County, King & Queen County, Newport News, New Kent County, City of Norfolk, City of Portsmouth, Poquoson, City of Virginia Beach, Williamsburg, Town of West Point, and York County.

The specific communities in Roanoke are: the City of Roanoke, the County of Roanoke, and the Town of Vinton.
