(Undated) -- Brown University and Providence College are on the list of 100 best values in private institutions released by Kiplinger's Personal Finance. The annual private school ratings are in the December issue of Kiplinger's. The magazine's editors said the schools on the list met the challenges of a slumping economy. Brown placed 12th on the list, PC was ranked 35th. Both were judged in the university class, which had 50 schools competing for placement on the list.
