More Changes On Route 95 In Providence Starting Tonight

11-04-2009 03:35 AM EST | By ###John Carpilio/psl
(Providence, RI) -- The southbound split on Route 95 in Providence will be eliminated overnight. Weather permitting, the change is expected to be completed in time for tomorrow's morning rush. The state Department of Transportation also announced the existing Exit 20 south from Route 95 to Route 195 east will be closed Friday night and replaced with a temporary ramp about one-thousand feet south of the current location. DOT officials expect some traffic congestion until motorists get used to the latest changes, which are part of the Route 195 relocation project.
