Cox Communications' Scholarship Program

Cox Communications' Scholarship Program was established to promote continuing education among high school seniors pursuing careers in communications, telecommunications, technology or engineering fields.  Since 1994, Cox has awarded close to $400,000 in scholarships to exemplary high school seniors from Cox service areas in Rhode Island and Connecticut.

The scholarship program recognizes high school seniors in Cox's service areas who have excelled academically, demonstrated a strong community involvement and expressed a desire to continue their education. Each scholarship will be awarded in the amount of $2,000.

Applications are accepted electronically during the months of January and February of
each year. (application will be available beginning December 31, 2012).

Application process:
    • Applications must be completed and submitted to your guidance counselor for signature
      and mailing.
    • A current high school transcript & answer to part II of Application must accompany
      the application.
    • All applications should be e-mailed to rosie.fernandez@cox.com,
      subject: Cox Scholarship application.

Criteria:
    • Academic excellence
    • Community involvement
    • Desire to pursue a degree in communication, telecommunications, and technology or
      engineering fields
    • Student must live in or attend school in a Cox service town in Connecticut
      and/or Rhode Island.

Rhode Island: Statewide

Connecticut: Cheshire, East Windsor, East Granby, Enfield, Glastonbury, Granby, Hartland, Manchester, Meriden, Newington, North Granby, Rocky Hill, Somers, South Windsor, Southington, Stafford, Suffield, Union, Wethersfield, Windsor Locks.)

A committee comprised of community partners will review, rank and select the scholarship recipients.
