(Van Nuys, CA) -- An alleged drunk driver accused of colliding with a police car, causing the patrol vehicle to lose control and hit another car, was arraigned today in Van Nuys. Silvio Ramirez was allegedly driving under the influence on Lankershim Boulevard when he made an illegal U-turn, striking the LAPD patrol car causing the vehicle to veer out of control and hit another car. The three-car collision happened at 9:30 pm on November 4th in North Hollywood. Both LAPD officers sustained injuries, the most serious being a broken nose. The complaint alleges Rameriz had a blood alcohol reading of point-one-five-percent. His license had also allegedly been suspended at the time of the accident.
