LA City Caouncil Public Safety Committee Votes To Ban Cat Declawing

(Los Angeles, CA) -- The City of Los Angeles may ban the declawing of cats. A Los Angeles City Council Committee unanimously reccommended that the city ban the practice, calling it a form of cruelty to animals. The "Los Angeles Times" reports that the proposal was written by councilmembers Paul Koretz and Bill Rosendahl. The City of Werst Hollywood has already banned the procedure. Santa Monica, Malibu and Beverly Hills are also considering banning cat declawing.
