(Los Angeles, CA) -- A former emergency room physician was found guilty Monday of reckless driving, assault, battery and mayhem against two bicyclists riding behind his car in Los Angeles. Christopher Thompson slammed on the brakes of his Infinity sedan in front of two cyclists on Mandeville Canyon Road in July, 2008. The impact propelled one cyclist through the car window, causing the rider to suffer broken teeth, facial cuts, and a broken and nearly severed nose. The second cyclist crashed to the pavement and suffered a shoulder separation that required surgery. The judge ordered Thompson jailed immediately. Thompson is the owner of a medical documentation company in Woodland Hills. He faces a maximum sentence of 10-years in state prison.
