Group Home Opens In Gaithersburg Parish

11-07-2009 04:42 AM EST | By ###Erika Kane/rm WDC) MD) VA) TX)
(Gaithersburg, MD) -- Washington Archbishop Donald Wuerl will bless the Rosaria House group home for adults with developmental disabilities this Sunday in Gaithersburg. The project has been a dream of parishioners at St. Rose of Lima Catholic parish in Gaithersburg for a decade and was constructed with more than 700-thousand-dollars from Montgomery County's affordable housing fund. Jubilee Association of Maryland will provide residential support services, while parishioners at St. Rose of Lima will work with Potomac Community Resources to provide enrichment opportunities and encourage the inclusion of residents in the community. This is the first project of Rosaria Communities, Inc., a newly established non-profit owned by the Archdiocese of Washington. Rosaria plans to provide additional affordable housing for persons with intellectual and physical disabilities, and work with parishes, service providers and others to provide high quality, faith-based community homes.
