Car Crashes Into C&O Canal

(Washington, DC) -- Several people were taken to an area hospital last night after the car they were riding in rolled down an embankment into the C&O Canal near Fletcher's Boat House. The accident apparently happened at around 10 p.m. as the car was driving along the towpath, which is not a legal driving area. Emergency officials say two people were pulled from the shallow water and three people in all were transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
