(Washington, DC) -- Members of the Muslim community center in Silver Spring, where accused Fort Hood shooter Major Nidal Malik Hasan used to pray, say theirs is a religion of peace. Major Hasan, was born in Northern Virginia, attended Virginia Tech and received a doctorate in psychiatry from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda. Members of his former worship center say they can't believe religion was behind the shooting and say they've even been threatened with violence. Major Hasan worked at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center with veterans returning from war before he was transferred to Fort Hood, Texas.
