(Upper Marlboro, MD) -- Speed cameras will soon start snapping pictures in Prince George's County. Starting this January, drivers will get a ticket if a speed camera catches them in one of 50 targeted school zones. For 30-days, drivers will get warning tickets. After the grace period, drivers will face a 40-dollar fine. Maryland recently passed a law allowing the cameras all over the state. Montgomery County and several municipalities have been using speed cameras since 2006. The District also has them, but Virginia does not.
