(Las Vegas, NV) -- The health district has yet to confirm it, but hospital officials say the say a six-year-old became the first child to die from H1N1 in the county. Hospital reports state Daejon Barnes contracted the virus at Quannah McCall Elementary School weeks ago. The child reportedly spent the past few weeks in the hospital and underwent five surgeries, but died from complications. Officials say Barnes had sickle cell anemia, and contracting H1N1 created health issues which prevented him from ever getting better. Twenty other people in the state have died from the virus.
