Cox employees, Digeez participate in Hispanic-themed entry for Fiesta Latino Parade

A spirited Digeez cruises down the downtown Las Vegas 4th Street parade route with the help of a classic ‘64 Chevrolet Impala followed by mariachi musicians and folkloric dancers.
Company mascot Digeez was decidedly spirited as a backseat passenger in the factory-original 1964 Chevy Impala Super Sport that was part of the Cox Las Vegas entry in the parade portion of the Fiesta Las Vegas Latino Parade & Festival that took place the morning of Sept. 15 along 4th Street in downtown Las Vegas.
As co-title sponsor of the 2nd annual event, Cox Las Vegas had optimal positioning at the front of the parade with its entry composed of some 30 Cox parade walkers, Digeez and its Impala ride, a dozen mariachi musicians, a dozen costumed folkloric dancers, a second Impala and a mobile billboard announcing the launch of MundoFox, the new Spanish-language channel that officially launched on Aug. 13 on Cox Channels 120 and 155.
Among the many Cox parade walkers was Adriana Moreno, installation & service support coordinator, who frequently volunteers for Cox events and Cox sponsored events such as the Cox Back to School Fair, the Latin Chamber’s La Oportunidad Expo, the Veteran’s Day Parade and the recent PRIDE Parade. And it’s not uncommon for Moreno to bring along some additional volunteer support, which is why she arrived at the parade with one of her daughters, as well as a niece, her mother, sister and a family friend.
“Me and my family really enjoy volunteering like this,” Moreno said. “And my daughter Zelda was really excited to march in the Fiesta Las Vegas Parade because she was able to wear her little ‘china poblana’ traditional Mexican dress.”
The Fiesta Las Vegas Latino Parade & Festival ushered in a month’s worth of activities celebrated by various groups during Hispanic Heritage Month, Sept. 15 - Oct. 15. An estimated 20,000 people were entertained at the Fiesta Parade and Festival, which took place on Mexican Independence Day.
