About Cox in the Community
General Overview About Cox in the Community

Cox Communications-Las Vegas is proud of its reputation as a strong community supporter—a reputation that is based on our nearly three decades of involvement in Southern Nevada.
We give nearly $1.6 million dollars annually in cash and in-kind donations to dozens of local non-profit organizations who meet our philanthropic focus of supporting children, families and education. In addition, we provide free cable television and high speed Internet service for all Boys & Girls Clubs, the Girl Scouts of Frontier Council, all local fire stations and all public and private schools in Clark County.
Each October, we also renovate a local unit of the Boys & Girls Clubs as part of a our company’s participation in a national day of service Since 2003, Cox employees have volunteered to perform landscape and cosmetic makeovers at several local Boys & Girls Clubs facilities.
We also coordinate a company-wide food drive in November to benefit the Salvation Army and as well as a back-to-school drive in August to collect backpacks, notebooks, pencils and other supplies for the children at Olive Crest. We support dozens of other organizations such as the Las Vegas Natural History Museum, Nevada Ballet Theatre and Public Education Foundation.
In 2007, Cox Charities was created to provide a more formal way for non-profits to apply for grants. Cox Charities is funded through employee contributions to the United Way of Southern Nevada with matching funds from Cox and support from our cable contractors. In its first two grant cycles, Cox Charities awarded $113,750 to 16 local organizations.
Cox Las Vegas also operates its own community television station called, Cox 96. Our television staff creates, produces and broadcasts exclusive programming on Cox96 designed specifically for our Southern Nevada audience. The sort of content you’ll find only on Cox 96 and no other local television station includes carriage all of high school graduations in Clark County, the hosting and broadcasting of community parades such as the Dr. Martin Luther King Day Parade, Helldorado Parade, Hispanic Awareness Day Parade and the Pride Parade. Cox also broadcasts the annual State of the City addresses from the City of Las Vegas, City of North Las Vegas and City of Henderson.
