(Gretna, LA) -- A Jefferson Parish grand jury has handed up an indictment against a 19-year-old Harvey man in a fatal shooting in May. The indictment charges Jarrod D. Henry with second-degree murder in the killing of 27-year-old Umar Ervin. Ervin was shot while standing in a back yard and ran down the street and collapsed on the porch of another residence. Deputies found an AK-47 assault rifle and a .38-caliber handgun in the yard where Ervin was shot. Henry faces a sentence of life in prison if convicted.
