(Uncasville, CT) -- A store in Uncasville is being honored with an environmental stewardship award. Tri Town Foods is making itself more energy efficient by using high tech efficient fluorescent lighting and they use the heat from the electric motors which keeps the cases cold. They also replaced the lights in the cases with energy efficient LED strips. The store says they invested around 100-thousand dollars and will see a payback in about two years. Tri Town officials say they want to work on going solar next.<
