(Bridgeport, CT) -- A 27-year-old Coventry man has pleaded guilty to federal charges in connection with a bank fraud scheme. Justin Edwards admitted in a Bridgeport federal court Monday that he stole credit card balance transfer checks from people's mailboxes, then wrote them to himself for large sums. He was able to withdraw more than 89-thousand-dollars before banks realized the checks were fraudulent. Edwards will be sentenced in January, when he is facing a maximum of 125-years in prison and millions of dollars in fines.
