Akron Man Gets Prison Time For Machete Attack

(Akron, OH) -- A Summit County Common Pleas Court Judge handed down a 15-year prison sentence to a man accused of attacking his roommate with a machete. Fifty-seven-year-old Jay Andrews had gotten into a fight with his roommate in June, attacked him with the machete and then bit off part of his ear. Andrews got eight-years on two counts of felonious assault and an additional seven years for being a repeat violent offender.
